Cardiff International Pool opened in 2008 with a 50 m, ten-lane competition pool, a 25 m leisure pool, flumes and a gym. Next door, Vindico Arena has an Olympic-sized rink with public skating and learn-to-skate lessons, and it's home to the Cardiff Devils. Cardiff International White Water's 250 m pumped course opened in 2010, for rafting, kayaking and paddleboarding.

Cardiff Bay Yacht Club and Seren DΕ΅r Canoe Club take you onto open water, and Pont y Werin, the foot and cycle bridge over the Ely, links the village to Penarth. Cogan station is about ten minutes' walk across it. Masters swimmers, ice hockey teams and paddlers all train here, so a partner at your level is never far away.
