Gyms in Gabalfa
Gabalfa takes its name from Ceubalfa, 'place of the boat', after an old ferry over the Taff, and today its own list is parks and football rather than gyms.

Training in Gabalfa
Parks, a flyover and the Taff Trail.
Gabalfa's own list is parks and football. Lydstep Park and Gabalfa Park have playgrounds and Cardiff Draconians FC plays here, but there's no gym or studio. For coached training, look to the neighbours: Cathays station lies to the south, with taekwon-do and sports-performance coaching close by, and the two Heath stations are to the north-west, where there's a combat school.
Where Gabalfa does well is getting out. The Taff Trail connects to the district via Llys Tal-y-Bont Road, and Cycleway 1 along Allensbank Road was finished in 2023. The city centre is about a 10-minute cycle, and Cardiff Bus 9 runs from the Gabalfa Interchange to the International Sports Village, home of Cardiff International Pool.
