Training in Cathays

Small studios in Cardiff's student quarter.

WOMB is a community yoga studio for women and birthing people, with prenatal and postnatal classes and drop-in groups, and YogaMo teaches yoga too. Strength Matters coaches sports-performance personal training for rotational sports and mountain athletes, and Cricket Matters, on the same postcode, combines cricket coaching with strength and conditioning and rehab. Cardiff Martial Arts, an ITF taekwon-do school founded in 2005, teaches taekwon-do, kickboxing and Little Dragons classes in Cathays.

With about 18,000 residents at the 2011 census, Cathays is the third most populous community in Cardiff, and its station next to the Students' Union is the seventh-most used in Wales. The civic centre's parkland, from Gorsedd Gardens to Bute Park and Blackweir, gives you somewhere green to run between lectures or shifts.
