More than twenty rowing clubs are based on Putney Embankment, London Rowing Club among them. On dry land, Putney Leisure Centre on Dryburgh Road has pools, a gym, studios and a health suite, and Physical Culture, under the arches on Winthorpe Road, has been a strength and powerlifting gym since 1928. CrossFit Putney, PureGym and Énergie Fitness cover the rest of the lifting, Putney Jiu Jitsu and Martial Fitness teach on the mats, and SW15 has a long run of yoga and Pilates studios.
