Training in Meadows

A community pool, padel and the river.

The Meadows sits on the old Trent floodplain south of the city centre. Its main training venue is The Portland Centre on Muskham Street, a community facility run by Notts County Foundation with a gym and a pool. Lane swimming starts at 7am on weekdays. PureGym Nottingham Castle Marina handles open-access lifting, and Nottingham Padel Centre, Swings Golf, a fitness studio and two martial arts schools add variety.

Victoria Embankment follows a 2 km meander of the Trent between Wilford Bridge and Trent Bridge, with playing fields and the Memorial Gardens behind it. Running it is better with someone keeping pace.
