Training in Colinton

Courts, fairways and the Dell.

Colinton is a conservation area 3.5 miles south-west of the city centre, and its venues are mostly racquets and pitches. Colinton Lawn Tennis Club and Thistle Tennis Club both play here, Thistle Padel adds padel courts, and Kingsknowe Golf Club adds golf. Elite Taekwon Do Schools teaches martial arts, and Edinburgh United FC plays football.

The Dell follows the Water of Leith Walkway from the parish church towards Slateford, through ancient woodland and a 140 m former railway tunnel painted with a mural of Robert Louis Stevenson's poem From a Railway Carriage. It's a lovely stretch for a run or ride, and better with someone to meet at the church gate.
