Training in South Bank
Clubs, a racecourse and a river.
South Bank is light on gyms and strong on clubs. Its list has Doshinkenyukai York Kendo Club and York Shotokan Karate Club, Vikings Cheerleading, Tekkers York football, Hamilton Panthers FC's pavilion and The Mount School's gym, plus Knavesmire junior parkrun for children.
Knavesmire, much of it given over to York Racecourse, is the open ground next door, and Knavesmire Harriers train there. The Millennium Bridge takes you across the Ouse to Fishergate and Fulford, which makes an easy loop with a running partner.
