Training in High Wincobank
A big council centre and a park.
Concord Sports Centre, run by Everyone Active, has a 25 m pool and a teaching pool, a renovated gym, a group exercise studio and a cycling studio, two sports halls, three squash courts, a sauna and a floodlit 3G pitch. The council plans to rebuild it on adjacent land, with the current centre staying open while that happens.
Most of the rest is in Concord Park, which lies between Shiregreen and Wincobank: a golf course with coaching, tennis and basketball courts, and Woolley Woods. A squash rival or a weekly swim with a friend is easy to fit around a centre with this much in it.
