Training in Fulwood
Clubs, courts and the Porter Valley.
Fulwood's training is club-based. Fulwood Sports Club combines lawn and hard-court tennis, squash and racketball, crown green bowls and snooker, and Hallam Grange has its own tennis and bowls. There's Hallamshire Golf Club, Hallam Cricket Club, a ballet and theatre school, and yoga and Pilates teachers, but no open-access gym on the list.
The Porter Valley Parks are the real draw: a 4.5 km path runs from Endcliffe Park through Whiteley Woods and Forge Dam to Porter Clough, with open Peak District country beyond. It makes a good out-and-back for a running partner, and a regular squash opponent keeps you honest on the court.
